John Patrick McAlea Sr. (Grandpa Jack) age 85, Loving husband of the late Margaret "Peggy" (Nee Bentler). Dear father of John Jr. (Jana), Timothy (Kelly), and Patrick (Rebekah). Caring grandfather of Danny, Tara, Sean, Jack, Colin, and Bridget. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Gloria, sister-in-law Patricia, brother-in-law Ken, and nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his father Bernard F. Sr. of Drumaness, Co Down Ireland, and His mother Nora McGinty of Ballycroy Co. Mayo Ireland, brother Bernard Jr., sister Mary Coletta and brother-in-law Charles.
Jack was a US Navy Veteran and retired from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Lifelong member of the West Side Irish American Club. Enjoyed spontaneous road trips and visiting relatives in Ireland. #1 fan of the 16 to 1 championship baseball team (if you know, you know).
Private family services held.
Interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
