Douglas Martin Allard passed away on February 14th. Dear brother of Dale Allard (Jenni) and Dan Allard (Ania). Loving uncle to Kaitlin Allard. Doug was born in Gary, Indiana and raised in Portage and Logansport, Indiana. A celebrated high school wrestler, Doug went to the Indiana State Championships representing Logansport High School. After High School, Doug enlisted in the Navy and served on the flight deck of the USS John F Kennedy where as a Plane Captain he was responsible for the safety and integrity of the aircraft. Following his Honorable Discharge from the Navy, Doug used his VA benefits to enroll at the University of North Florida where he completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. Doug then embarked on a wide ranging career in computer programming in which he traveled and worked in Florida, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, Indiana, Michigan, and finally Westlake, Ohio where he worked for Travel Centers of America. Doug was fluent in several computer languages and was known as “The Man” when it came to anything SAP. We will remember Doug for his quick wit, his playful sense of humor, and his remarkable Hawaiian shirt collection. He was much loved and is sadly missed by family, friends and co-workers.
