Ann Marie Black
Birthplace: Irvington NJ Resided In: Bay Village, Ohio

It is with great sadness the family announces that on February 13, 2023 Ann Marie Schaufler Black passed away in the family home surrounded by loved ones.
Marie was born January 5, 1927 in Irvington NJ. She had been a resident of Bay Village since 1968. Ann Marie was a dedicated and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt.
She is survived by her husband of 76 years William Morrison Black, son William Patrick Black, daughters Kathleen Black (Hamilton Marron) and Diane Magnuson (Boyd), grandchildren Alexander Campbell (Amber Chreitzberg), Brianne Kennard (Clay), Stephanie Black (Xavier Umajinga), Denise Black (Ajith
Padmarajan) great grandsons Caleb and Brody Kennard, “little sunshine” Inti Morrison Black, her sister Charlotte Seegers of Parsippany NJ, and Quincy the cat. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Anna Schaufler and sisters Ethel Zimmerman and Martha Carnevale.
Marie raised her 3 children and 2 grandchildren with her characteristic energy and devotion. She was a member of the Bay Village Women’s Club, attended programs at the Bay Senior Center, was a tour guide at Rose Hill Museum, was a sports grand-mom, a bridge player and a Girl Scout cookie chairman. She enjoyed traveling to historical sites especially Colonial Williamsburg. She smiled at the memories of her 2 trips to England and Scotland with her husband and daughter. Still on her bucket list was a cruise down the Rhine River.
She regularly enjoyed attending Dover Congregational UCC in Westlake and had a strong relationship with her faith. Her husband described her as social, enjoying groups and connecting with people. She always did a good job because she did it with care.
The family would like to thank all of the caregivers including the staff from Griswold Home Care and the team from Hospice of the Western Reserve.
Please help support Marie’s memory by considering a contribution to the Bay Village Women’s Club Scholarship Fund, PO Box 40433 Bay Village OH 44140 or Mutts in a Rut Rescue PO Box 111335 Cleveland OH 44111.
A memorial service is planned for a later date.

What a wonderful woman. As a fellow member of the Bay Village Women's Club, I truly enjoyed the many activities with Marie who was an active volunteer up until the Covid shut downs. She was good-natured, competent, and always ready to jump in to help. She is a role model for seniors. Thank you Marie. I'll miss you.

Dearest Kathy and family.
At our age, it sure is difficult to lose a beloved family member and watch our families shrinking in size. It was a blessing to have your mom with you for so many years Remember those memories.
My deepest sympathies

You will be missed. You always asked after my husband and about my grandson Caleb. You called Caleb your southern gentleman. You knew glassware and antiques and always wanted a grandfather clock. Life will be very different without you.

I miss you grandma! Thanks for everything. Life won't be the same without you, especially the holidays. Through the good times and the bad, you know that I love and appreciate you and I know that you wanted the best for me. I wish you could spend more time with Inti. You were a really devoted mother and I will try to be one too. You did a good job.
