I met Jim in 1962 on the playground of Glenview Elementary School. His younger sister Sue was a classmate of mine. I remember many fun times with Jim at Vic & Teds, The Wharf (later Preston’s and now The Ironwood) and when Jim and Tom Janssen would come up to visit me at Bowling Green. Win a lot of money in those days watching frat brothers and townies think they could put chug Jim. Enjoyed lifting weights with Jim and Tom Janssen and washing it down with a case of ice cold Strohs! Jim was a dear friend, had a great, deep laugh and would ALWAYS help anyone in need. God bless you Jim! RIP!

Great childhood memories growing up with Jim in our West Oviatt/Lincoln neighborhood. Also had much fun at Vic & Ted's years later playing pool, pong, and darts.

Having just moved to Bay 25 years ago. I soon found Preston's. Jim was standing in his spot. Seeing a newcomer he greeted me and introduced me all around. And then bought the first one. He was one of a kind.

So sorry to hear this. Jim was a great guy that will be missed by all. My favorite memory of him was when he dressed in an Alf costume and crashed our house party one night. Always a laugh and very well liked by all who knew him.

It became very apparent my street was no longer the same, as I missed my friend and neighbor stopping by to talk about Volkswagens and motorcycles, or the usual honk and wave EVERY time we crossed paths..I have known Jim and his brothers for nearly half my life and ended up having the pleasure of being neighbors for some 15 years now. His presence and jovial demeanor will always be cherished and now truly live in my heart. You will be unbelievably missed by me, my family, and so many people blessed to have known you. What a wonderful person you were my dear friend. RIP Jim
