Dearest Jon and Family While our fathers may have shown their love of God in distinctly human (and often mystifying) fashion, I feel truly blessed by their unwavering examples...Of ably caring for many others, always doing their utmost, and sharing their Light. My brother says they were both "Old School". And great teachers most certainly live on in the lives they have shaped. When my dad passed and i fully realized how many tasks he had wrangled, We are forever grateful that your dad (and you) uplifted our family so many times when things seemed grim or disconnected. It bridged the gaps between how we had loved and what we hoped was not lost. Your visits bouyed our spirits and reminded us that moments shared are pure prana. We still marvel at how Bill made it his mission to keep our families in touch, even as our moms became less able. Now that those memories carry forward without Bill physically present, i wonder how best to honor his legacy. Sure seems like he painted his picture with enduring kindness. For now, we will certainly donate to Meals on Wheels... Hopefully we can explore more personal 'avenues' of expression when the shock of loss flows into more peaceful sentiments for you. Meanwhile, trust your brothers (and families) to all serve as vivid reminders of how faithfully Bill loved his Lord and lived His teachings. That alone inspires awe and encourages us. We see beyond our sorrow in missing him to the joy of having known, admired, and loved him dearly. Ree and Christian Nielse
