Laurel S Karby

March 13, 1946 ‐ June 01, 2022

Our lovely and endearing Laurel Susan Karby passed on from her friends and family on June 1, 2022. She was born on March 13, 1946 in Lakewood, Ohio to her parents Eugene and Janis Baus. Her childhood was spent in Rocky River, Ohio with her sisters Lynn and Leigh. Her lifelong interests included reading, fishing, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. 

She enjoyed many fishing trips with Gerri, Gordie, and John to the upper peninsula of Michigan and Burritts Bay Canada. Laurel also loved visiting her dearest friends Barbara Jackson in Tampa, Florida, and Geraldine Romanchik in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Her annual trip to Breakers Hotel at Cedar Point was a highlight shared with her sisters, mother, Aunt Marion, and other friends. Laurel loved her time with family and friends, and will be remembered fondly by many. 

Laurel’s cooking skills and enjoyment in sharing and collecting recipes was known by all that knew and loved her. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Janis Baus and her Aunt Marion Gladden. She is survived by her son John(Jill)Karby, grandson Jack(Lana)Whaley and granddaughter, Piper Whaley, sisters Lynn Baus and Leigh(Leo) Schade, nephews Ryan(Lora) Schade and Eric Schade and special friends Gorden and Mary Goodman. 

Laurel will be honored and celebrated on June 18, 2022 with a reception at Arturo’s Grill  26679 Brookpark Ext,  North Olmsted, Ohio from 1:00  to 5:00 pm. She would have loved nothing more than having those she loved the most gathered in laughter and sharing warm memories. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the charity of your choice.

Laurel loved and lived boldly with much joy. She would like for us all to do the same. Please remember her as she loved all of you.
