Duane M. Jensen, 72, of Avon Lake, OH, passed away on January 6, 2022, following a courageous battle with lymphoma. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and three children.

Born and raised in Attica, NY, Duane went on to graduate college from SUNY at Binghamton. Duane and his wife, Sharon, moved to Westlake, OH, in 1981 where they settled to raise their family. Known for his strong work ethic and pragmatism, Duane remarkably spent his career of 38+ years at BP Amoco, where he managed tax and accounting functions in offices throughout the world.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Duane loved spending time with his family. He and Sharon celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary this past October. Nothing lit up his world more than seeing and playing with his seven grandchildren.

Second to spending time with his family, Duane was an avid golfer and was lucky enough to play courses around the globe. Duane was delighted to have shot two holes-in-one and was exceptionally proud of one day in England, where he and a friend played 101 holes between dawn and dusk. He rarely missed his weekly Thursday and Sunday golf leagues, where he spent time playing the game he loved with dear friends.

Duane loved to travel the world with his wife and friends, though his favorite and most frequently visited place remained Hilton Head Island on vacations with his family. In his free time, Duane also loved investing in and trading stocks.

Duane M. Jensen, age 72, Beloved husband of Sharon (née Popowich). Dear father of Dana Santo (Adam), Gregory Jensen (Frances) and Carli Forsythe (Bill). Loving grandfather of Benjamin, Austin and Jane Santo, Charles Jensen, and Liliana, Carter and Catherine Forsythe. Brother of Allan Jensen (Becky). Visitations to be held Tuesday, January 11 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at JENKINS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2914 DOVER CENTER ROAD, WESTLAKE. (The family requests that masks please be worn.) Private service and burial will be held.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 6111 Oak Tree Blvd. Suite 130, Independence, OH, 44131 (https://www.lls.org/) or Crohn's & Colitis Foundation, 4700 Rockside Rd, Suite 425, Independence, OH, 44131 (https://www.crohnsandcolitis.com/).

I have know Duane for many years, as we both worked for Sohio/BP as well as played golf together in the BP Golf league. He was truly a great man, who loved and cherished his wife, children, grand children and fellow man. He was also a great listener and enjoyed a good story from his friends. I will always remember the time he spent with me trying to improve my golf game and swing. We will all miss him a great deal.

The best way to describe Duane was "Class". Never heard him say a bad word about anybody, actually I don't think I ever heard him say a bad word, period. I always loved when I was able to be in Duane Foursome on Thursday. My life is better for knowing him. God Bless Duane. RIP.

Duane was always a true gentleman, a good friend, and a leader. I'll miss seeing him at the BP League, where he was a stalwart for many years. He went out of his way to welcome new members and make them feel part of the group. Sincere condolences to the family on your loss.
