Dear Mrs. Given, Scott, Brian and Janine,
Your family has always been so wonderfully unique and I feel so grateful to have spent so much time with you growing up. So many amazing memories with you guys. I feel so lucky to say that Mr. & Mrs. Given felt like they were my parents too, and together they were the perfect combination of love and strength. Mr. Given was the ambassador of strength in your family and I believe it helped make you all into the amazingly independent, tough and yet most kind hearted people I’ve ever known. Thinking of you all, Mr. Given was one of a kind and he will truly be missed!

We are heartbroken for you all! We consider ourselves lucky to have been able to share time with Dick and your family at various special events, and he always made us feel like part of the family! Those times only showed a glimpse of what a wonderful, dynamic family he and Jan have created, and our hope is that your countless memories will bring comfort and peace in the coming days. Jan, Scott, Brian, Kevin and Janine, It is with such a heavy heart that I received the news of Dick's passing . . . guess he was trying to catch up with Tom. He will be missed by all who knew him. He brought our family great comfort at Tom's passing and we shared many loving (if salty) stories about their friendship, LFD and all the characters they worked with over the years. May you find your strength and peace through our Lord Jesus who will supply all your needs.

Given family-
I am so heartbroken to hear of his passing. He was such a fixture in our firefighter family and I mourn him with you. I can only imagine the stories over coffee that he and my dad are laughing about right now. God's peace for you especially during this time.
