JOHN G. BARTOS, age 82, went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, December 11, 2021 after a short battle with COVID-19 at St. John Medical Center. John was born Dec. 5, 1939 in Cleveland, OH. He married and settled permanently in North Olmsted, OH. John was a Servant and Friend of North Olmsted Evangelical Friends Church. He was saved by God’s grace through faith in the finished work on the cross, and this salvation was not obtained by anything he had done to merit it. Beloved father of daughter Connie Bartos of Wellington and his late son John M. Bartos of Medina. Preceded in death by his late brother Richard A. Bartos. Grandfather of Asa (Suz) Bartos of Clarks Summit, PA, Cassie Bartos of Wellington, Simon (Lauren) Bartos of Medina, Jade Bartos of Knoxville, TN, and Janna (Matt) Swafford of West Palm Beach, FL. John especially loved and obsessed over his 9 great-grandchildren, Naomi, William, Silas, Ezra, Jaden, Asher, Isaac, Johnnie, and Leia.

No question that John has enlivened the praise and worship up above. He inspired me, and others I’m certain, to profess and express my faith more boldly and openly. Condolences to his family.

Sympathies to Connie and family. Enjoyed talking with John over the last few years and appreciated his great faith in Jesus. We had lived on Gessner for 20 years so not far from him. I, too am glad that he went quickly, as just saw him late November. He is in a better place now.

We will dearly miss our neighbor and friend. John was truly a proclaimer of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

John seemed to burst onto the scene five years ago like a shooting star. He burned so brightly for Jesus proclaiming his love for his Savior and all the things he had been saved from. He called the church to prayer and loving one another. The Lord was so merciful to take John quickly. My thoughts and prayers are with all the family members. He talked so many times about Cassie and Naomi and Connie.
