Katharina Sinreich (nee Straky), age 89, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2021. Katharina was born in Hatzfeld, Romania on November 10, 1931 to the late Franz and Karolina Straky.  They moved to Austria at the onset of WW2 where they lived throughout the war. Following the war, they immigrated through Ellis Island in 1950, then moving to Cleveland where Katharina met Nik and married in 1952. She created many fond memories and friendships living in Lakewood
and then Rocky River with her husband and children. Summer camping and family road trips in the paneled station wagon filled many of the earlier memories. After Nik passed, she moved to Bay Village and spent her remaining 25 years in her house there. She was joined by her late friend Helmut Habermann for many of those years.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband Nikolaus, cherished daughter Ellen and loving sister Johanna.

She is survived by her children Mark (Rita), Deborah Jones (Marty), and Norm (Connie). Cherished grandmother of Michelle Sheldon (Valentine), Lauren Sinreich (Bobby Donovan), Josh Shepp, Brandon Farley, Macy, Nikolaus, and Ian Sinreich, Matthew Jones (Molly) and Brian Jones (Sara). Great grandmother of Ellie and Georgie Sheldon, Owen and Brady Jones, and Eleanor Jones.

Affectionately known as Oma by all.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, December 2 from 6-8 pm at Jenkins Funeral Chapel, 2914 Dover Center Road, Westlake. The family will be holding a private burial at Holy Cross Cemetery on December 3rd.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Association (honoring her sister's battle with cancer). https://donate3.cancer.org
