Cousin Gene was a gentle soul, an avid reader, and a lover of flowers. Despite his continuing ill health, he kept going. I appreciate his willingness to spend time with his two aunts, driving them on adventures around the state and to Amish country to get some goodies and see the sites. He never came empty handed, but always brought some treat to share. Gene, rest in peace.

Gene was my cousin and my godfather. He was very kind to all of us and especially kind to me and always remembered me with beautifully wrapped presents and special cards. As my brother Jerry mentioned he spent much time with my mother, his Aunt Amelia, taking her and Aunt Rita on outings and drives and sharing many Sunday afternoons playing pinochle and sharing a meal. He was a blessing in our lives and he will be dearly missed. May God bless you for your kindness Gene.

Gene was gentle, kind, and compassionate - he renewed our faith in mankind. It always amazed us how brilliant he was. He's probably teaching the Angels all about iris! It was our honor to know him. Peace.

My cousin Gene, was a very kind person. He was an older cousin of ours. He was very kind to me and my brothers and sisters. At Christmas he brought us gifts and I remember, every easter he would bring all of us a large chocolate Easter Egg.
Also when my Mother was living alone, after my Father had died, Gene would make a weekly visit to be with her. They played pinochle every week.
I did not get to see Gene very much in the past fourty years, since I was away in the Military my self, and retired out here in Kansas.
I want to thank his Nephew Eric, for taking care of Gene for so many years!
May Gene rest in peace! He was a special person.

Gene was loved by all of us at the North East Ohio Iris Society. He was willing to help us learn about Siberian Iris and he had so much to offer. We were hoping he would be with us much much longer. Gene will be in our thoughts and prayers!
