John Paul D’Ettorre, age 79, died Saturday, August 21, 2010. Beloved husband of Suzanne (DeWeese). Dearest father of Anne (deceased), Renee Wargo (Andy), John D’Ettorre (Kathy) and devoted grandfather of Jacob and Erin D’Ettorre and Alec, Andrew, and Aaron Wargo. Brother of Antoinette (Dolly) DiTeodoro, Alfred D’Ettorre, Dino Zazzara (deceased) and Gus Zazzara (deceased). Survived by many nieces and nephews. John was a former principal of Hilliard Elementary and a realtor in Westlake. Mass of Christian Burial to be held Tuesday, August 24 at 10 am at St. Ladislas Parish, 2345 Bassett Road, Westlake. Friends and family will be received from 2-4 & 6-8pm on Monday at Jenkins Funeral Chapel, 2914 Dover Center Road, Westlake. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to a charity of your choice.

John left a wonderful legacy as Hilliard's principal. He was well-respected by the Hilliard staff, students, and parents. Everyone always spoke of Mr. D'Ettorre with great fondness. When John attended the 50th anniversary celebration of Hilliard School in 2006, he was immediately surrounded by many former students and their families as well as past and present staff members. He was a great educator and a wonderful man. John will be missed.
