I had the pleasure of meeting Brad years ago.  He was a friend of my Grandson John when they were in high school.  He was such a nice young man .I  know how it is to lose a son at such an early age.  My prayers are with you and your family..

    Joyce:

My sincerest sympathy to you and your entire family.  I am not sure if you remember me, but, my first job out of high school was at Insurance Affiliates and we worked together for a few years.  You were very patient and kind to me as I started out in the business world.  I was deeply saddened to hear about your loss.  No parent or sibling should have to endure a loss such as this.  My thoughts are with you during these trying days.

    With love,

    Christine Haydoo Smith

    To the Schroth Family:

    Joyce:

I am not certain if you remember me, but I worked with you many years ago at Insurance Affiliates.  You were such a kind person, and I am certain you still are.  I had the pleasure of meeting your son, Mike, through my work as an attorney.  I met him just a couple of years ago.  He would be on the opposite side of the table from me at workers' compensation hearings.  I was  happy to make his acquaintance, and when I learned his last name, I asked if he was related to Joyce Able Schroth.  Proudly, he said you were his mom. What an incredible young man he is!  Polite, friendly, articulate, and gentle in spirit.  Just an all-around good kid.  Of course,  I sung your praises to him.

Judging from the type of person that Michael is, I am sure that your son, Brad, was just as kind and polite.  I am so sad and bothered to learn of his death.  My heart breaks for the entire Schroth family.  Such a handsome young kid - just on the springboard of life.  No parent should ever have to endure what you are enduring.  I am so very, very sorry.

Michael, to you I say be strong.  This is a terrible time for all you.  Speaking from experience, it will be better.  I can assure you.  You do not think so, but it will be.  Life will never be the same, but it will still be good.  Time is your only friend.  I miss seeing you at the Industrial Commission and never knew where you went!

It is said that grief is the price we pay for love.  Take comfort in knowing that he loved you beyond words - and, just as you still love him - even in death - his love continues to flow from him to you.  Let his peaceful love surround and comfort you and assuage your ache.

If there is anything I can do, please let me know.

    With love and sympathy,

    David

My sincere & heartfelt condolences are extended to the entire Schroth family.  Brad was my close & caring next door neighbor.  We would often wave to each other as we backed out of our driveways on the way to work & when we had a chance, would engage in great conversation.  He spoke lovingly of his family & always asked about mine.  I will miss my good neighbor & friend very much.

    Deepest sympathy,

    Pat
