Sorry i am not able to be there family. But Dominic knows that i am near.
When the Lord called you to come home Dominic , Lillian was there waiting for you.As was Mom, Stella, Carmela plus Pop. It has been many years since you last saw him.
Lou and myself didn't get to visit, but when we did we always enjoyed our visit. I'll alway remember the the wonderful dinners you made for us. How much you started to enjoy life with your ballroom dancing. Church and everything else you put your heart too! I wished that you had been able to do more. But you and Lillian are now dancing to the Lords sweet music. And welcome me into the family.
Enjoy Life Dominic, it has just begain for you. Keep them dancing shoes on.

Dominic Stroffolino Eulogy -by his daughter Thurma (MiMi)
It has been wonderful to have such terrific parents. We were blessed with a very LOVING mother and father. They were always optimistic and caring – always thinking of others before themselves.
My mother had many years of health problems with a series of strokes and my father was care giver to her for 15 years. She lost her battle in 2001. Dad had many years of major health problems too. He had diabetes, congestive heart failure, kidney failure (resulting in 5 years of dialysis), a few heart attacks, a hip replacement, a toe, then foot, then leg amputation; then another toe amputated and recently a fall resulting in a broken leg. During this last episode after Father’s Day, he’s been going down hill and we found out that he had an infected gall bladder and went septic. All this was finally too much and he went into cardiac arrest.
The last few years dad did not let anything stop him.He was a FIGHTER! We called him an Energizer Bunny. He learned to drive with hand controls on his car and just kept going and going…
He loved God, his family, his church and his country. He was so kind and thoughtful to everyone he met.The world had a shining example of a great person.Anyone who was lucky enough to know my dad knew he was amazing. He rarely complained.
He loved his post at the American Legion (and his Canadian Legion) and had many friends. Before he became too weak, he enjoyed his friends at daily mass at St. Clarence. He kept in touch with some old Reading High School and Sampson AFB alumni. He had pen pals from all over.He kept in touch with his buddies from Midland Steel and my mom’s former fiends in “the Birthday Club”. He was blessed with great neighbors at his condo and loved living there. His neighbor, Nitza, was like a daughter to him and he appreciated all the help she was always giving to him.He loved many and was loved by all.
He loved his children and his grandchildren and was very proud of them.He was happy to meet his great grand-daughter and loved all of us SO much.He loved hisbrothers and sisters and their families and was always so happy to keep in touch with them.He absolutely loved his sister-in-law Carol who he raised like a daughter & her family too.
Growing up he volunteered at our PA church “St. Joe’s” and also with the scouts and the high school athletic boosters. He was usually a LEADER and became the president or scout master, etc.He loved to GIVE of himself.
In his early years, dad became the man of the house at age 14 when his father died. His mother had 7 children – the youngest was a toddler.Even before this age, he worked from a young age, helping the milk man to deliver milk 6 days a week before school. Then he delivered newspapers. He shined shoes for his shoemaker father and then learned the trade. From age 14 to 15 he ran the shoemaker shop for his mother – she took the shoes in during the day, and he repaired them at night.
Dad eloped with my mom at age 17 and eventually went into the Air Force. He used the G.I. bill to go to college, even with 2 kids and a full time job.He graduated from Albright College. He worked at Dana Corp. (aka Parish) from 1960 – 1974.After he got his degree, he was transferred to management. In 1974, he moved us from PA to OH and became Material and Production Control Manager at Midland Steel Products. He retired in 1996 (and took care of my mom full time).
He led a good life.He always worked hard.He gave, he loved, he lived – and now he can rest, and enjoy eternity with his loved ones that preceded him and we look forward to seeing him when our turn comes.
