Donald Webster “Pete” Peterson, 81, of North Olmsted, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2010. He was born on February 27, 1928 in Warren, PA to the late Elmer and Lois Webster Peterson. Don was a 1946 graduate of Warren High School in Warren, PA. He proudly served our country as an Anti-Aircraft Specialist in the U.S. Army. Don began his working career at the Sylvania Corporation in Warren and then moved to Conneaut, OH where he was employed at the Astatic Corporation. He later was employed by the Premix Company in Kingsville, OH. At the time of his retirement on December 31, 1994, he was Chief Engineer at the Moen Corporation in Cleveland. During his career as an Engineer, he received several U.S. patents for product development. Don was a member and had served as Exalted Ruler of Elks Lodge 256 in Conneaut. He was an avid pilot and airplane owner. Flying was one of his great passions in life. He was currently serving as President of the local chapter of the Silver Wings Fraternal Organization. Don enjoyed traveling and photography. Visiting his daughter and family in Utah where he would watch the F-16’s flying overhead at Hill Air Force Base and attending the AF Museum was also a favorite. He loved to watch his grandsons participate in sports activities; he was a very proud grandfather! Don also enjoyed golfing and bowling, and was still active in both sports. He is survived by his loving wife, June, daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jo and Michael Dysert (Utah), step-daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Tom Sennott (Virginia), and two very special grandsons, Robert and Joseph Dysert. A memorial service is pending at Emerald Village in North Olmsted.
