Kenneth Clyde Smith (Smitty), 76, of Westlake Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at St. John’s Hospital after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

He leaves behind his wife, Judith (Cook) Smith of 56 years.  They were high school sweethearts since they were 15 years old.  He also leaves behind a daughter, Denise Sciuto (Brad) of New Wilmington, PA, his son, Darren Smith (Marci) of Westlake, Ohio, five grandchildren:  Andrew Sciuto, Joey Sciuto, Molly Smith, Matthew Smith, and Macalister Smith.

Born and raised in Olmsted Falls, Ohio, the son of Clyde and Mary Jane (Hill) Smith, both deceased, two brothers, Donald Smith, deceased and Richard Smith of Florida.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran out of Norfolk, Va.  He worked for 30 years at Hy Level industries in Strongsville, OH as a maintenance supervisor.  He was an avid golfer, hunter, and car mechanic.  He also loved traveling and attending all of his Grandchildren’s sports and musical events.

The funeral service where we will celebrate his life will be held at a later date pending Covid-19 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Westlake Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Disease Research.

We have known Ken for over 50 years. Ken had such a pleasant, positive personality. He was a great father, husband, and friend. He was always smiling. He was a true friend.
